There are strong indications that the spokesperson to former President Mahama will be contesting the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Primaries in the Ayawaso Central Constituency of the Greater Accra Region.
Our informant says Hon. Joyce Bawa Mogtari has been sponsoring party activities in that constituency in order to have smooth relationship with the executives when the time arrives for her intention to be known.
Checks at the constituency office on the information could not be ascertained as executives there were tight lipped.
Some of the executives who spoke with Ghanaiandemocrat.com on condition of anonymity confirmed the said information but added they are waiting for her official declaration.
According to them, not only Bawa Mogtari is coming but other high profile personalities within the largest opposition NDC are eyeing the seat.
The former Deputy Minister of Transport is said to have been lacing her boot to embark on serious campaign and talks are ongoing with constituency and regional executives to make sure requirements, party constitution and procedures are followed.
“For us as constituency executives we cannot stop any one from contesting but will make sure there is level playing field for all contestants when the time arrives” our source disclosed.
He counsel that the former Parliamentary candidate (PC) should not contest for the third time since he has not been able to unite the executives and party people.
For him, the party needs a new face to change how things are done in the constituency and be able to rescue power from the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
