…campaign team members consider stepping down for Sowutuom’s Sariki

As the Anyaa-Sowutuom Constituency branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) continues to be embroiled in confusion after revelation that Mr. Emmanuel Adotey Allotey, the Osu branch Manager of Fidelity Bank who has filed to contest for the 2020 Parliamentary of the NDC has some dirty files with the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) the scandal storm has broken ranks in his camp.

A deep throat source from within the Allotey camp has reported that a Fifth Column has developed within, with many of the Allotey camp insiders privately losing faith in him over the fact that the BNI dirty file is a dirty surprise.

Consequently, these disappointed camp members have changed their allegiance, and directed it towards one of Allotey’s three competitors for the 2020 ticket.

Our source from within the inner sanctum of the Allotey camp tells of how a plan had been made to advice Allotey to step down and throw his support behind Ibrahim Amadu, a Sariki of Sowutuom, who has also filed nomination for the same ticket.

Those who were pushing the plan, according to the source, reason that the BNI dirty file is too much of a baggage to surmount with damage control and could well be the coup de grace for the Allotey campaign.

However, Allotey is said to be seen as pig headed about finishing the race even though he knows he cannot win and this intransigence on his part has led to his camp members developing double allegiance behind his back. According to our deep throat, many of the Allotey members have secretly sold their support to the Sariki of Sowutuom.

They did so, with a price tag on their conscience, the source says, as the Sariki has allegedly been promising to reward every delegate who supports him with a quarter plot of land.

This grandiloquent promise by the Sariki, we have cross checked with some of the delegates who have confirmed, but we can not independently verify.

Interestingly, many of the delegates do not believe in that promise because the Sariki is saying that he will only give the lands out after he has won to become PC.

Meanwhile, in the Allotey camp, those who have left their mouths in the kitchen of the Sowutuom Sariki have become a secret Fifth Column, and are stealing information from Allotey and feeding it to the Sariki. Consequently, any plan that the Allotey camp makes, quickly surfaces in the public.

For instance, in the build up to picking nomination forms, the camp is said to have planned to unleash dirty campaign of character assassination against one of Allotey’s competitors, one Irene Mensah, after the nomination had been filed. Soon after that plan was hatched however, it was roaming on constituency platforms.

The traitors within justify their actions by saying that Mr. Allotey, the Fidelity bank Osu branch Manager who had started his campaign by sending out attack dogs to insult other contestants, is too shady a character to continue to risk their allegiance with.

Emmanuel Allotey’s alleged dirty files with the BNI recently became topic when the incessant attacks on his competitors by his camp members annoyed one Bismark Antwi Boasiako into warning him to rein in his insulting minions.

Bismark’s advice that the contest was an internal one and needs to be devoid of insults rather attracted attacks from the Allotey a boys. This annoyed Bismark into telling them that their pay master, on whose behalf they were insulting everybody, lived in a glass house himself.

According to him, Emmanuel Adotey Allotey, the Osu branch Fidelity bank Manager, had some dirty files with the BNI that would undo him if the files were to be released and flung about the way his minions were insulting others all over.

The Allotey boys, rather than beat a retreat, called the bluff of Bismark and this annoyed Mr. Antwi Boasiako into releasing a WhatsApp chat with Allotey in which the Fidelity Bank Manager was seen pleading with him secretly not to let the world know about his dirty little secret with the BNI.

Since the release, Anyaa-Sowutuom has been in turmoil, as Allotey stomps about using every dirty trick in the book to try to cover up the revelation. Among others, he stormed Bismark’s shop at Awoshie A- Lang taxi rank and abducted Bismark’s shop assistant away to a Police station for reasons only best known to himself.

The illegal action prompted the Greater Accra regional executives of the party to summon him before its disciplinary committee. It is as the issues unfurl that some members in his camp have been jolted into the grand epiphany that they are fighting in the corner of a candidate who may not be winsome. Conseuqnetly, they have secretly sold their support to the Sariki of Sowutuom.

So far, four people have filed nominations for the Anyaa Sowutuom NDC ticket. In addition to Emmanuel Allotey, the Constituency Chairman of the party, Alhaji Mamud, one Irene Mensah, and Alhaji Mamadu, the Sariki of Sowutuom, have also filed.

Coming up: how a group of delegates came together and decided to support one person for the Anyaa Sowutuom 2020 Parliamentary ticket, so that when former President Mahama and the NDC’s national leadership releases campaign money, they can share and pocket the cash.
