We will Not Allow the Re-Run of Dome Kwabenya polling station-Edudzi Tamekloe
The Director of Legal Services of the NDC, Lawywr Edudzi Tamekloe has vehemently opposed the re-run of the polling station in the Dome Kwabenya constituencies.
The Dome Kwabenya death remains one of the outstanding seats which the EC has ordered a re-run of a polling station in that constituency but the NDC legal luminary will have none of that arguing that will set a bad Precedent.
He contends that the seat was won squarely by the NDC Candidate, Elikplim Akurugu hence any attempt by the EC to do anything unconstitutional will be resisted.
“The rerun has not constitutional basis If we allow that we will set a bad precedent where a mischievous presiding officer can create a similar problem”, Mr. Tamekloe stressed.
“We will not permit it to happen” he added.
He however opined that what the EC should have done was to go for the ballot box and recount to verify whether or not the figures as captured on the pink sheets match with the ballots.
The NDC Legal Director also emphasized that the Abokobi polling station which the EC is calling for a re-run is the strong hold of the NDC insisting that that exercise is much Addo about nothing.
