TWO GAY SUSPECTS CAUGHT:
One was captured whilst the other escaped.
Two young persons suspected to be gays were caught at Nima , a suburb of Accra in the Greater Accra Region over the weekend.
According to an eye witness he caught the two Moro Mayuka and Kojo Opoku , who are also team mates naked in the bathroom. the two suspects claimed they were only taken their bath.
The eye witness who spoke on condition of anonymity said he went into that house looking for one Abdulai Mayuka, the area Imam , who is also the father to Moro Mayuka one of the suspects who is currently at large.
My reactions towards the boys attracted the attention of people outside and passersby who trooped into the house. The boys upon sensing danger tried to escape. Moro was lucky to jump through the window but luck eluded Kojo who was caught and punished by the mob that thronged the house.
Moro was given a hot chase by the mob but couldn’t get him as he ran faster for his dear life.
When this reporter caught up with Mallam Abdulai Mayuka, Moro’s father and the area Imam, he confirmed the incident and added that his son has not disgrace him alone but dragged his family name into the mud.
I wasn’t in the house when the ill-fated incident occurred but I was called by my wife on phone who informed me of what occurred. I quickly rushed back home and saw a large crowd in my house’’.
On whether he had gotten in touch with his son since that day, Mallam Abdulai who doubles as the peace chief for the community responded that he doesn’t want to set eyes on his son again.
I will make sure I kill him with my bare hands whenever I set eyes on him. Why will my biological son choose to disgrace me that way, the angry Imam posited.
He swore not to ever have anything to do with his son again till the end of life and that he forbade his son from ever returning to the house or community at large. I had ordered the area vigilante group to search for him and punish him severely.
He added that Islam is against gay practice and he will not support ungodly act to flourish whilst he is alive. Whether the suspect is my son or not, I will make sure any gay person caught in this Muslim community is punished severely.
Homosexuality has no place in Islam and Ghana at large and that we the community leaders , both Muslims and Christians must rise up to crash and eliminate gay practice which is gaining roots in Ghanaian communities of late, particularly amongst the youth and second cycle school students.
He therefore called on religious and traditional authorities in Ghana as well as politicians and the security agencies to take stringent measures against homosexuality which according to him, if care is not taken will consume the youth of today who are the future leaders.
Background checks conducted by this reporter in the area has it that Moro and Kojo were team mates in a youth football club in the area.
Attempt to get in touch with the family of Kojo Opoku, Moro’s colleague who was caught , for their part of the story proved futile.
