The MD said businesses and Institutions could do more if they could use aforementioned gadget to assist in the prevention of this novel coronavirus.

The MD, Nana Ofori Atta mentioned that in their contribution to the fight against COVID-19, the company gained respect for its corporate social responsibilities including free installation of CCTV and accessories to some Police Stations in the Greater Accra Region, Ghana Navy and Prisons’ Headquarters,

Adding that, the company is also trusted by its valued clients for the installation and sales of quality surveillance and security gadgets.

He urged that aside the various protocols laid out by World Health Organization, WHO, like social distancing and the wearing of face-masks, and he hinted that some businesses and Institutions have put in place smaller structures like the enforced Temperature Check Point before entry to transact business.

The MD further hinted that Institutions like Banks, Hospitals and Shopping Malls amongst a few are using this structures.

“This Temperature Check Point typically involves a security personnel checking the body temperature using a forehead thermometer gun before allowing a client an entry into their offices or places”, Nana Ofori Atta said.

“…..the process although effective, it also poses risk as there is still human interaction and contact”, he bemoaned.

We present our thermal surveillance solution, which employs the use of Thermal Imaging Cameras (TIC) and accessories to check temperatures of persons upon entry into a public space, he said.

The MD explained that a Thermal Surveillance Camera is a camera that uses heat sensor attached to a special type of lens which is then adapted to work alongside standard image-capture technologies.

Adding, he said thermal cameras when deployed properly could measure the body temperature of every person entering or exiting a public splace.

He also hinted that the thermal imaging equipment could easily be installed and implemented to detect elevated skin temperature in places like the Parliament House, Flag Staff (Jubilee) House, Airports, Hospitals, Clinics, Office buildings, Banks and other public gathering splaces.

He further explained that the use of thermal cameras is a simple contactless and effective way to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

He also stated that to measure the temperature of 5000 people for example, will take about 4.2 hours using a forehead thermometer gun, as it takes at least 3 seconds to measure a person.

However, the MD was quick to say that it will take only 30 minutes if using the right thermal cameras and accessories, and added that it could measure 3 persons every second with a high temperature of ± 0.3℃.

Avcontech is poised and ready to assist upon request for the installation and setup of Thermal Camera solution at discounted rates in our effort to assist with the fight against COVID-19. “We implore the government, business and institutions to consider this as part of the preventive protocols”, added MD.
