It has come to the attention of theresistance that a BBC group of politicians led by one Kofi Akpaloo have fraudulently put a group of political parties together purporting to rally support for the NPP and the Electoral Commission in the
matter of the replacement of the 7 year old biometric voter register.

We want to place on record as a matter of importance that the following (UPP,
UFP, CPP, PPP, GCPP) parties have not authorised anyone to represent them in
any forum or press conference to declare support for the compilation of a new
biometric register.

The above parties have not, will not and shall never support such fraudulent and
mischievous approach to deceive and mislead the people of Ghana in the manner that the NPP, the EC and these group of fraudulent politicians are working to perpetuate this grand fraud on the good people of Ghana.

We want to state for the record that the above parties represented by their leadership have publicly decried our abhorrence for the recalcitrant behaviour of the EC in the matter of the replacement of the biometric register.

We have since
issued public statements indicating our dissatisfaction on the conduct of the EC
and that matter our rejection of the proposal to replace the biometric voters register.

On Monday, the 6th of January, 2020 we joined forces with three (3) other parties under the umbrella group of the Inter-Party Resistance against the New voters
register to make our case to the people and also announce our intention to embark on series of public manifestations across the country under the YENPENE declaration, the first of which comes off in Tamale the 11th of January 2020 at
6am prompt.

The converging point will be the Tamale jubilee park.

Whiles at it, we want to express our disquiet about the wanton abuse of state media (Daily Graphic and Ghanaian Times) to perpetuate this grand fraud.

This morning, we saw on the front pages of these state media, a publication that “13
parties supports the EC’s New register” including our parties mentioned above.

This we consider a very sinister move to mislead the public in an attempt to white wash the lonely path taken by the NPP and the EC to replace the biometric voters register. We wish to call out the editorial team of these two state owned
newspapers to be circumspect in the kind of stories they give prominence to on
their front pages and should commit to work on improving the already worn-out image of the newspaper.

We want to use this opportunity to invite the media, civil and moral society to join us in this historic move to reject political oppression, Electoral fraud, wasteful
expenditure and the compilation of a new biometric voter register. We must stand up and be counted. We must rise in our collectively to protect our democracy and the integrity of our electoral process.

Long live the Resistance

Long live Ghana
