Oblieman Chief Calls for Security Beef up Ahead of Homowo

The chief of Oblieman Opah in the Ga West Municipality of the Greater Accra Region, Nii Ayitey Anumle Oyanka 1, has called on the Inspector General of Police ( IGP) to help beef up security pesence in the areas before, during and after the homowo celebration.

This year’s slated for 7th to 9th September and will be under the theme “Fostering Development in Oblieman and its environs”.

The call was as a result of sporadic attack and shooting by known landguard at the palace some few weeks ago.

The chief and his elders were in the palace when the known landguard and his boys invaded the palace and started shooting indiscriminately aimed at killing the Chief.

Addressing journalists at the palace on Thursday, the chief described the attackers as “dangerous terrorists” that need to be checked by the IGP himself.

According to the chief who doubles as Civte International Adviser for Africa, activities of landguards have taken large tolls of people’s property in the area with the support of some senior police officers.

Nii Anumle appealed to the IGP to request all dockets relating to Nii Akamfra alias staff.

He stated that the said staff has been terrorising innocent residents thereby creating fear and panic .

Outlining some initiatives to bring development in the area, Nii Ayitey Anumle revealed plans are far advance to invest $5m dollars in sanitation and energy.

The project according to Nii Oyanka is expected to give jobs to over 500 youth and train them in various skills.

This year’s homowo will bring together investors ad prospective business moguls to Oblieman.
