NPP Grassroots Back Calls For Ofori – Atta’s Removal
The teaming Grassroots of New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region have joined calls by minority and some majority Members of Parliament and a cross-section of the public for the removal of the Minister of Finance, Ken Offori-Atta.
The grassroots who spoke to the ghanaiandemocrat.com in an inclusive interview on condition of anonymity revealed that the finance minister contributed immediately to the current economic woes in the country.
“Our finance minister is now a great problem for the party. If care is not taking, he can easily send us to opposition”, they added.
They stated that until Offori-Atta is removed as the finance minister the country will continue to battle with economic challenges.
According to them Offori-Atta’s ideas have come to an end and he doesn’t have anything good and new to offer the country again.
“Looking at his personality it’s clear that the man is tired. He has contributed his quota and the president should allow him to go and rest”, a section of the interviewee added.
The aggrieved NPP grassroots wondered why with all the cries of Ghanaians, the president is adamant and still keeping the man at post.
According to them the president should listen to the masses and change the finance minister.
“Looking at things it’s clear that NPP is likely to loss most of their parliamentary seats, and this is due to Offori-Atta’s lackadaisical attitude towards the management of the economy.
They appeal to the president as a matter of urgency change Ken Offori-Atta to help restore hope in the government and the NPP party.
