MP for Sege Secures 6-Units Classroom for Toflokpo Community

As part of effort to provide quality education to his constituents, the Member of Parliament for Sege, Hon Christian Corleteye Otuteye, has secured a six Unit classroom project for the Toflokpo Community D/A Basic school in the Ada West District.

The project which is to be funded by the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) would augment a number of education projects the MP is spearheading in the constituency.

Already, the MP has started similar projects in some of the communities to boost education in the constituency.

Some of these projects includes Teachers Bungalow which is about 98% complete, a 3-unit classroom block at Koluedor Mahem, a 3-unit classroom block at Adjomani Korpe , 2-unit- classroom block at Sege-koni, among of others across the constiruency.

Speaking to THE REPUBLIC in an interview in parliament about education development in the constituency, Mr. Otuteye said, the 6-unit classroom block at Toflokpo would be of a relief to teachers and pupil as it would provide condusive environment for teaching and learning.

He stated that education is the bedrock of nation development and that he would continue to lobby government and its agencies for such projects to enable every child in the constituency have access to quality education.

” This project at Toflokpo is going to be a sight of relief to my people. The teachers and the pupil have been learning in over crowded classrooms for years and I promised them during one of my campaigns and I am fulfilling it”.

“The aim is not just to have good structures but to ensure that every child have access to quality education. We cannot develop without education and I remained committed to the educational needs of my people,” the lawmaker added.

While assuring of his commitment to make education one of the topmost priority in his development agenda, the MP urged parents to continue to support their children education as it remained the only way by which they could fight poverty.

Mr Otuteye who is a member of the Defence and Interior Committee of Parliament also charged school children in the constituency to take their education serious, learn hard to excel and strain themselves from social vices that could derail their future.

He however used the opportunity to encouraged the constituents to continue to observe the World Health Organisation protocols against the COVID-19 panedmic.

He further advised them to continue to wash their hands regularly, use sanitisers and as well observe physical/social distancing.

The Coronavirus, he said is not respecter of persons, whether you are Ghanaian or none Ghanaian, black or white and whether you are rich or poor.
