Krowor National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate (PC), Agnes Naa Momo Lartey graced the funeral grounds of the late Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation (BOST) MD, George Mensah Okley last Saturday to sympathize with the family and the NPP fraternity in the area.

Saddly, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP), Elizabeth Afoley Quaye was nowhere to be found as she was accused of invoking juju on late Nii Okley Mensah because he did not support her in the last party primaries.

Naa Momo Lartey was accompanied by some NDC party executives and well wishers. The Occasion which was attended by several people from all walks of life saw the King of Nungua Traditional Council, King Odaifio Welentsi III in attendance.

In her speech, the NDC PC, Naa Momo Lartey posited that before any party politics, there was Krowor.

She further indicated that the lives impacted by Nii Okley Mensah in Krowor could be attested by many, therefore, his departure has created a vacuum. “It’s not about how long you lived on earth, but how you impact society when you are alive”, she maintained.

To this, Naa Momo Lartey said George Mensah Okley aka Makanaki as she affectionately called him contributed his quota not only to the NPP but for entire Krowor and Ghana at large.

“George Mensah Okley’s name will be mentioned for the lives he touched and transformed when he was alive”, she noted.

The NDC PC admonished the family and sympathizers to calm down because it’s God who gives and takes lives, as she reiterated that, if God didn’t allow his passing, Nii Mensah will still be alive.

Meanwhile, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate (MP) who doubles as Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Elizabeth Afoley Quaye was nowhere to be found at the funeral grounds.

There were allegations of bad blood between the MP and Nii Okley Mensah who happens to be her nephew over the years.

It was rumoured that Madam Afoley Quaye instigated his resignation as BOST MD just because he used his position to help the youth and the people of Krowor.

It was also alleged his support for Ingineer Emmanuel Odai during the NPP primaries against madam Afoley Quaye was the beginning of their bad blood, as such, the MP was seen openly invoking curses, evil spirits and ancestral forces on Nii Mensah which was streamed live and recorded versions widely circulated.
