Hawks Not Responsible For Kumasi Shooting – NDC Organizer – Ghanaiandemocrat

The Greater Accra Regional Organizer of the oppositional National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Anthony Nukpenu has debunk claims by section of pro-government media houses that the shooting that occurred in Kumasi on Monday was carried out by the Hawks, a pro NDC vigilante group.

According Nukpenu, the shooting was carried out by the members of the NPP vigilante group just to divert the attention and disgrace in the face of government both locally and internationally aftermath the Ayawaso West Wuogon brutality.

In a press statement issued in Accra on Tuesday, the NDC organizer condemned the act of lawlessness in the country and called on the government redeem the peaceful atmosphere the citizens used to enjoy.

HAWKS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR CRIMINAL ACT IN KUMASI

It has come to our notice with shock and dismay of news purporting to relate a decent membership men and women of the party with the accolade “HAWKS” as being behind the shooting and killing of a party member in Kumasi 

We condemn the criminal act in no uncertain terms and call on the law enforcement agency to apprehend and deal with those criminals without any reference to the party nor any group.

The group takes a serious exception to the conclusion made by the police in Kumasi. We urge them to go after the names given to them and deal with them as criminals.

Membership of hawks, spurn from branch executives to regional executives of NDC. Hawks is not a creation of the NDC party. I repeat, Hawks is not a creation of the NDC party.

Hawks is not a vigilante organization as being churned out to the public. Hawks is made up of decent responsible party executives of the party.

The groups soul aim and responsibility is to provide operational, information and organizational support to the party in terms of party activities.

The group does not possess an armory and doesn’t have arms with its members.

The group does not assemble unless there is an impending party activity that demands our organizational support within the catchment area.

It is therefore very disgusting and useless for some individuals to hide behind decent groups to perpetrate crime in the name of party cover.

We therefore strongly disassociate ourselves from these criminal young men who took the law in their hands to take people life.

They are criminals and murderers and should be dealt with as such. We therefore call on the teaming party supporters to remain calm, resolute and steadfast in the face of all this provocation and intimidation.

We shall continue to provide our unflinching support to the party any day and anytime even if some individual party executives with their cowardice will conclude and jump to denial of party workers.

NDC not known for coward attitude. We will never do anything to bring the party’s name and image into disrepute. We are law abiding people and shall always uphold the constitution and laws of Ghana in high esteem.
