NPP Thugs Stormed NDC Meeting …One Shot Dead, Another in Critical condition

Some unidentified assailants believed to be members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP’s) deadly vigilante groups, Invisible Forces and Delta Force have stormed the regional party office of the largest opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) , in Kumasi where  a meeting was taken  place, opened fire leading to the dead of one of its members.

According our source on the grounds, the NPP thug were riding on motorbike in front of the NDC party office in Kumasi and started shooting indiscriminately.

The source observed that the gun shot was targeted at the General Secretary of the party Johnson Asiedu Nketia and the National Chairman Samuel Ofosu Ampofo by the assailants but hit the wrong persons leaving one dead on the spot and the other in critical condition at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

Though some of the eye witnesses who spoke with ghanaiandemocrat.com revealed that the attackers were allegedly known persons attached to the NPP’s Ashanti Regional chairman, Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako popularly known as chairman Wuntumi and Invisible forces but are yet to confirmed by the police.

“I saw their faces on the motor bike, they belong to the NPP’s Invisible forces that normally walk with chairman Wuntumi’’, the source said.

The National Democratic Congress Ashanti Regional Secretariat has since issued a statement condemning the attack by the political hoodlums of the ruling party.

Former President Mahama has also condemned the attack and called on the security agencies to investigate the issue and bring perpetrators to book.

The former president urged the security agencies to speed up investigations and allow the law to take its cause irrespective of the person’s political affiliation.

Some political analysts believed the attack at the NDC party office on Monday was a ploy to divert the ongoing work by the Commission of Enquiry set up to investigate violence at the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election.
