The opposition National Democratic Congress NDC’s running mate for the 2020 general elections, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang has charged the youth to be mindful of leaders they choose during elections.
According to her, the youth have the larger voter population and have the key to decide who becomes their leaders in Ghana.
Prof. Jane Naana was speaking at the International Youth Day forum organised by the NDC youth wing to celebrate this year’s youth day on Wednesday in Accra.
She said she time has come to change the naratives by ensuring youth are given the opportunity to serve in governance of the country.
She cited an example where the late Prof. John Evans Atta Mills assumed office and appointed some youth as ministers of state and have proved their worth.
The youth, according to her, when given the opportunity would perform better.
She advised the youth to take their field of endeavor seriously and stay off trouble.
