Basic Schools Cry For Desks

Information reaching Ghanaian Democrat coupled with intelligence and reliable sources from the Ahafo Ano South East District in the Ashanti Region indicates that most of the basic schools in the district lack desks.
Most of the basic school teachers who made their frustrations known to Ghanaian Democrat on condition of anonymity lamented on the hell they are going through in the schools without desk.
According to them, no effective teaching and learning could take place without students having desks.
“Frankly speaking, the situation is very alarming. How can pupils hanging around without desks and the government is expecting quality education” the aggrieved teachers added.
Some of the parents who spoke to the Ghanaian Democrat confirmed the bad state of the issue. They revealed that they (parents) have to contribute money to be able to purchase some of the desk.
Most of the students which the portal contacted also poured their anger on the situation.
“We are doubting whether we are also Ghanaian students because the way and manner in which the government is treating us is not fair”, they lamented.
A visit to Potrikrom Junior High School and Primary School, Aburaso JHS and Primary, Asuadei Basic Schools, Pokukrom Basic Schools proved same.
The parents, teachers and the students appealed to the government and benevolent organization to come to their aid.
