Ayawaso East MP Takes Step To Tackle Drain System At Nima 441
The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Ayawaso East Constituency of the Greater Accra Region, Hon. Mc Nasser Mahama Toure, has cut a sod last Wednesday, September 8, 2021 to begin the construction of phase 1of 600 meter drainage system at Nima-441 Welfare.
The drainage system has been a major problem for the residents and has become a dumping site for most people whenever it rains.
Delivering his speech to mark the beginning of the project, the MP promised to provide all the necessary funding to ensure the completion of the project on time.
He said when completed, passers-by and residence along the gutter would be safe.
Hon. Mc Nasser revealed that the project fund would born out of his share of the MP’s common fund.
Nonetheless, he also promised to continue with his developmental agenda until Allah decides for him to quit politics.
The project is expected to be completed in about three months.
Meanwhile, Mr. Adam Abubakar and Noah Atta, the contractor and Engineer promised to deliver the project on time.
The supervising Engineer, Ing. Attipoe of the Ayawaso East Municipality also expressed optimistic of delivering the project on time.
The Assembly members for 441 and Hotcoffee electoral areas, Razak Ismail Ember and Nuhu Khalid commended the MP for his decision to construct the drainage system.
According to them, the drain has been one of the biggest problems facing the two communities.
They tasked the people especially the youth in the area to lend the contractor a helping hands in other to complete the project ahead of time.
They also warned residents that anyone caught dumping refuse before during the rains shall be delt with according to the by-laws of the Municipal Assembly.
The also used the opportunity to appeal the people to change their attitude towards the environment and play an active roles as citizens and not spectators.
Notable individuals present at the ceremony including Alhaji Sumaila Isaaka Yabre, an opinion leader and Chief Gomida, representing the chiefs of the area and some highly respected individuals within the Municipality.
