Head coach of the Comoros national team, Stefano Cusin, has applauded Ghana’s qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, describing the Black Stars as a side rich in quality, experience and football heritage.

Cusin made the remarks during the post-match press conference after Comoros suffered a narrow 1–0 defeat to Ghana at the Accra Sports Stadium – a result that sealed the Black Stars’ spot at next year’s global showpiece to be hosted in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

A decisive second-half strike from Mohammed Kudus handed Ghana victory and ensured they topped Group I to secure their fifth World Cup appearance – and remarkably, their sixth consecutive qualification for the prestigious tournament.

Praising Ghana’s pedigree, Cusin expressed confidence in the Black Stars’ potential to shine on the world stage.

“You (Ghana) have wonderful players, you have history, you have experience and everything – so I am sure you are going to make a great World Cup,” he said.

While Ghana now shifts focus to preparations for the World Cup, Comoros will turn their attention to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), where they have been drawn in Group A alongside Morocco, Zambia, and Mali.
