The return final match of the 2024 CHAN qualifier between Ghana and Nigeria has been decided on Saturday but Ghana, one of most successful team in Africa is not among the qualified teams to participate in the incoming competition to be hosted by Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda.

Since the ouster of the team at the Godswill Akpabio in Uyo after the team lost by three goals to one 3-1, a lot of questions have been asked and a number of possible factors have been adduced for the disappointing outing by Coach Mas-ud Didi Dramani.

After conceding three goals within ten minutes against Nigeria in the first half, proved too difficult for the black Galaxies.

Questionable selection process If there is one thing most Ghanaians agree about the black galaxies class of 2024, it is the belief that the players selected by the coaches for the qualifiers were not the best the country could have produced, according to chairman of Black galaxies management committee who spoke to the media at the VIP centre in Nigeria after the match.

According to Bonsu,
there have even been widespread allegations of inducements (unproven yet) and coercion in the final selection of players.

Many were taken by surprise when coach Mas-ud Didi Dramani sensationally droped some players from the team, the players presented were not the best for Ghana.

Poor team display:
Football is a team game but that important hallmark was largely missing in this set of the Black Galaxies.

It was obvious everyone in the team wanted to be noticed and this did not help the team at all. With football agents and scouts lurking around to offer lucrative deals, the players seemed to be more preoccupied in ‘selling their market’ than helping the course of the team.
