Vigilante Group Threatening Our Family ……. Due to the online publication

According to the Sister of Ahmed Rufai Tourey, a vigilante group that attacked her brother to fled Ghana have started threatening their family again. 
The sister, Hamsanat Mustapha said the group only started their threat when they chanced upon a publication in the Daily Guide newspaper and Modern Ghana Online which stated that her brother Ahmed and four others to face 85 years in jail for engaging in romance and wire fraud scam in the US over  $10m fraud.
The story published by the modern Ghana portal noted that the five Ghanaians’ who belonged to the “Enterprise ” a criminal and scamming group that defrauded Americans to the tune of $10m.

 
They were said to be members of a criminal enterprise called “The Enterprise” based in Ghana that committed series of business email compromises and romance scams against individuals and businesses located across the United States, including in the Southern District of New York.

The vigilante group has taken advantage of the publication and started threatening our family that finally my brother would be brought home for them to punish him.He fled Ghana because he was attacked together with his friend by the same vigilante group some years back, Hamsanat explained. 

On what will the family do now, the dejected Sister said that they have no option than to only plead with American government to tamper judgement with leniency and to not bring her brother back to Ghana. She said if he is brought back home the family cannot guarantee his safety here and he would be tortured by the group with impunity. 

Since the publication of the article, Madam Hamsanat disclosed that her mother’s health has not been the same. ” Our mother who is a hypertension patient has been hospitalised twice ” Our mother’s health conditions has deteriorated day by the day since that publication.  She has since been crying always with the fear that her son will either be sentenced to a long period in prison or be brought home to be tortured by the vigilante group.

”I think it’s my time to die because Rufai is my backbone who takes care of me and if he is imprisoned or brought back to Ghana,  who will take care of me again”,  the dejected mother posited.

The mother, Hajia Mariyama Mohammed therefore appealed to the judge in charge to tamper judgement with mercy and leniency. Rufai Ahmed Tourey is scheduled to be sentenced on April 19,2019, at 11:00 am. .
