A combine team of military and police personnel from the office of the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, on Saturday and yesterday attacked residents at the bungalows behind the Electoral Commission and eject them from their rooms and made away with GHC 65,000.
The Officers who were led by one Araba and Inspector klutse in a black Presidential V8 Vehicle with registration number VR-1061-16 claimed they were acting under the directives of Mr. Ishaq, ADC to the Vice President and one Grace also in the Office of the Vice President.
This is the third time the officers have ransacked the area, and terrorized residents by throwing away their belongings from a second floor of a story building, saying the said building were supposed to be occupied by the security details of the Vice President.
All the operations are being led by the same Araba, with the same authority from the same Grace and for which some of the residents went as far as to a Deputy Minister of Works and Housing, Madam Freda Prempeh to lodge a complaint with no action taken.
The Residents who are senior public and civil servants are entitled to stay in government flats, have their official allocation letters of occupancy and for which a monthly payment were effected through their salaries.
Some Checks and Investigation by this reporter from Mr. Frank Agyei-Twum, the Director of Communication at the Office of the Vice President on Saturday revealed that the said Inspector Klutse is not known to the security details of the Office of the Vice President.
The Investigations also revealed that the said Araba has always been terrorizing officials occupying government bungalows in the name of the Vice President and Chief of Staff with the backing of the security details of the Flagstaff House and extort money from her victims.
The objective of such attacks on these bungalows is to eject the current occupants of the bungalows and replace them with security apparatus from the office of the Vice President
One of the residents, Mr. Abdulai Amin, who is the Head of Advances at the Controller and Accountant General Department and the main target of the exercise, lost an amount of GHC 65,000 during the operation as a result of throwing of his belongings to the ground floor of the building.
The Money which has been gathered by Mr. Amin for almost three years now for a special project got missing in the process of the operations for which he is demanding back from the said people.
Public officials living in Government bungalows in the country are now becoming fearful of the attacks that have been meted out to their colleague occupants in some areas of Accra and some parts of the country.
This makes the citizenry insecure and live in the state of fear of being attack by some hoodlums who could claim to be coming from the Office of the President or the Vice President.
The Vice President, Dr Bawumia must act on some of these criminal activities which have been dragging his name into the public domain.
Meanwhile an occupant who has been affected severely by loosing amount of the GHC 65, 000 has since reported the issue to the Adabraka Police Station.
