US Prof. Slams Govt Over Reliance on Chinese Loan
A United States lecturer,Professor Brian Baugus, has taken a swipe at the Ghanaian government for it’s over reliance on Chinese loan facilities.
According to the Regent University Prof. of economics, the Chinese were not in Ghana to help it achieve it’s aims and objectives but has an agenda to syphon the state resources.
He expressed worry about the ways government used it’s state resources for Chinese loan.
He said such partnership was a dangerous one for the posterity of the Ghanaian people.
He advised that Ghanaian government should rather have links to individuals who can strike partnership with the Ghanaian businesses and not government using state asserts for loans.
Prof. Brian suggested that government should have trust in it’s people and businesses for loans.
He made this remarks when addressing a public forum in the Eastern Regional capital, koforidua .The forum was organized by ILAPI on Ghana Beyond Aid on Friday.
The US based Prof. of economics touching on “Ghana Beyond Aid” mantra of the Akufo Addo led administration, viewed it as a good step towards realizing the future of the country but doubt if the current political will would ensure such policy is achieved.
