The 39th annual meeting conference of the Port Management Association West  & Central Africa (PMAWCA) ,today held their meeting to discuss the issues concerning port and harbour in the west and central African sub -regions.
Addressing the meeting, the Acting Managing Director of Port and Harbours, Mr Michael Luguje said this meeting is represented by the member association from the 20 countries.
 The main agenda is to discuss the plans and programs of the coming years. “It’s an exciting time for the maritime industry as we continue to grow,adapt and respond to the ever changing dynamics of our industry”.
The world of maritime business is a dynamic one and as organization leaders,we should have the vision, the knowledge, the wherewithal and the experience to ensure our organization remains at the cutting edge, he urges.
Mr Luguje also highlighted on the need of acquiring land for the work, so in this case I would like to tell the government of various countries to  support them by securing lands for the port’s a long maritime industry.
Present dignitaries were His execellency Alhaji Mamudu Bawumia,Hon Kwaku Ofori Asiamah-Transport Minister and the Board chairman of the Port’s and Harbours Authority, Mr Peter Mac Manu . Representatives from Congo Port, Senegal,Togo,Cape verde,Gambia Cote d’voire ,Guinea and the port of  Rotterdam, Port of Le Harve (France) , Port of Antwerp (Belgium).
