Teshie Maŋtsɛ Celebrates Four Years On The Stool
The Paramount Chief of Teshie Traditional Area, Gbɛtsɔɔlɔ Nii Ashitey Akomfra III, has climaxed his 4th anniversary of his installation as the Paramount Chief of Teshie, with a call on Chiefs and people of the GaDangme State to focus on developing the region to meet the needs of the people.
Addressing a colorful ceremony at Teshie to mark the occasion, Gbɛtsɔɔlɔ Nii Ashitey Akomfra III said their mandate as Chiefs is to serve the people by bringing developments in all aspects of their lives including education and welfare of their people.
He also appealed to the chiefs to play an active role in the developmental activities of their communities by collaborating with government in order to improve on their livelihood.
Gbɛtsɔɔlɔ Nii Ashitey Akomfra III expressed worry over the rise in chieftaincy disputes in the region which according to him is becoming alarming and threat to the peace and security in the region.
He therefore urged all well meaning sons and daughters of the GaDangme State to work together to end the confusion that had arisen as a result of installing a rival chief.
Gbɛtsɔɔlɔ Nii Ashitey Akomfra III pledged to continuously support people of Teshie to provide educational opportunities for the youth despite efforts by some individuals to destroy his hard earned reputation.
He pleaded with government to establish an educational scholarship scheme to support Teshie natives towards promoting education in the town.
On his part, the Dzaasetsɛ of the Teshie Traditional Area, Nii Ashikwei Kwaobotse II, said he would not be disrupted by his detractors from doing his work as a traditional leader by bringing development, peace and stability to Teshie.
He insisted that he would not relent on his effort on doing what is right, stressing that he remain committed to seeing Teshie develop.
Nii Ashikwei Kwaobotse II encouraged the people of Teshie to desist from engaging in activities that has the tendency to foment trouble but remained united and Chanel their resources into useful ventures for the development of the community.
Gbɛtsɔɔlɔ Nii Ashitey Akomfra III has outlined some success he chalked over his four years reign as Chief of Teshie including peaceful and violence-free Teshie Hɔmɔwɔ Festival, instituting Akrɔ Excellence Awards, Akrɔ Library Project, and establishment of the Teshie Education and Development Trust Fund among others.
