Oblieman Queen Mother Poised to Improve Bad Road Network
Queen Mother of Oblieman in the Ga West Municipality of the Greater Accra Region has move to improve on the bad road network in the township.
During an inspection tour of the roads, Maaye Naa Okunko Adaku Mansa I has assured the residents of her total support to make sure the roads are fix within the shortest possible time.
According to the queen mother, the deplorable state of the roads in town is nothing to write home about, hence the need to solicit for funds to fix the bad roads.
The American based queen mother was very optimistic about the progress of consultations and collaboration with the authorities to ensure the smooth take off of the project.
Explaining the project components to the media shortly after the inspection tour, Naa Adaku Mansa I indicated that the component comes with gutters, water treatment plant to pump portable drinking water to the various homes.
She said the project is expected to bring relief to residents, commuters and create jobs to the teaming unemployed youth within the Municipality.
The queen mother who was joined by the King of Oblieman, Nii Ayitey Anumle Oyanka I and the elder of the Oblieman traditional council expressed confidence in delivery the project in time for commuters.
On his part, the chief of Oblieman, Nii Ayitey Anumle Oyanka I explained to news men that building along the roads would be pull down and no compensation would be given anybody since they have encroach on the land ear marked for roads.
He said the road would have constructed long ago but certain government official sabotaging the whole thing with the excuse that contract has been awarded by the Municipal Assembly.
The fearless Oblieman chief took a swipe at politicians adding that “they always want something that will benefit their stomach and not the general populace”.
