Oblieman – Opah Chief of Abola Piam Install Commanders

The chief of Oblieman -to Opah who also doubles as Acting Paramount Chief of Abola Piam of Ga State , Nii Ayitey Anumle Oyanka has over the weekend installed  new youth chiefs’ for the Ga West Municipality in the Greater Accra Region.

The youth chiefs representing various communities in the Municipality were tasked to protect lands belonging to the Abola Piam family of the Ga state.

Charging the new youth chiefs on their mandate to spearhead development and protect lands belonging to the Ga, Nii Oyanka reminded them of the various tasks ahead of them.

According to him, the people of Ga have allowed politicians to divide their front making it impossible to have a paramount chief for the region.
For him, the time has come for the old folks to step aside and allow the youth to take up the leadership role.

He described as unfortunate some old men who hide behind the truth and allow the land to suffer and denied the region of a legitimate chief to ensure development.

He tasked the newly installed chiefs to work hard and deliver on the mandate adding that “you are sent there to work for the Ga state and not for your personal interest.

The new chiefs were taken through the required process and the final rites were performed to initiate them into the traditional enclave.

Speaking on behalf of the newly installed chiefs , Treba weku nupa (head of family) expressed their appreciation and promised to work hard and restore the dignity of the Ga state.

The newly appointed youth chiefs have also expressed their frustrations on the current situation that has denied the region of the paramouncy over the years.

They attributed the current chieftancy dispute on the some greedy old folks who according to them sold their conscience for little denying the Greater Accra Region the right person to lead it.

The occasion was mark amidst drumming from the Asafoanyemei of the Ga state and in attendance were some chiefs from the Zongo communities.

The following were installed for various areas within the Ga West Municipality , Nii Gyasi Treba – Treba Village, Asafoatse Ayikuma 1,  Oblieman – family of Oblieman, Asafoatse Atta Adu – Treba Village.

The rest are Sentse Oblieman, Treba Weku nupa (head of family), Treba Oshikpi – Treba Village, and Numo Ofoli of Abola Piam Taki Obli.
