NPP Primaries: Sunyani East Chairman, Two Others Under Bloody Attack
But for the timely intervention of the security details at the Residency in Sunyani, the NPP constituency Chairman, Mr. Musah Damtarrh and two others would have been murdered in cold blood at gunpoint by three well-known followers of Hon. Ameyaw-Cheremeh, the MP for Sunyani East.
The incident happened at about 2:00am today.
Chairman Damtarrh and the two others were returning from the Residency in Sunyani when Lawyer Asare Atua, Asoma Salia popularly called Tupac and one other person holding pistols and other offensive weapons suddenly emerged from a parked vehicle towards them and threatened to “finish them.”
Chairman Damtarrh and the two others’ persistent cry for help attracted the security guards at the Residency who came to their rescue and accompanied them to their homes only to realize another group of assailants had laid ambush waiting to attack them again.
As a result, the Police escorted them to the Police Station in Sunyani for safety.
Lawyer Asare Atua and Tupac, a well known followers of the MP for Sunyani East, Kwasi Ameyaw-Cheremeh who are said to be trailing suspected figures of the MP’s opponent in today’s primary in Sunyani East, Lawyer Alfred Tuah-Yeboah.
When contacted on phone by this portal, the Sunyani East constituency Chairman of the NPP, Mr Musah Damtarrh declined to speak on the issue.
