NPP in Panic Mood Over Mahama’s Running Mate
Information picked from the camp of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), shows all is not well with the campaign team as the choice for the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDCs Vice Presidential candidate will attract more gender activists sympathy from women in the December polls.
This, according to some of them, would endanger the party’s chances in the December elections.
Some of the NPP footsoldiers who spoke to ghanaiandemocrat.com after Prof. Jane Naana Opku Agyemang’s nomination as running mate for John Mahama was announced, minced no words but expressed worries about their chances of winning the support of Ghanaian women in the December elections.
“Infact, this will spell doom for our party in the next elections, how can we convince the women floating voters when there is a woman running mate another party ? They will surely come for her, NPP members said.
Earlier today, the leader and flagbearer of the opposition NDC John Dramani Mahama nominated the former Minister for Education Prof. Jane Naana Opku Agyemang as his running mate for the 2020 general elections.
The elders of the party including former President Rawlings endorsed the choice of the running mate of the party for the 2020 elections.
