Ghana Lotto Operators’ Association, GLOA, and Concerned Lotto Agents and Writers Association have described the Nana Danquah Akufo-Addo led New Patriotic Party NPP government as a big scam in the country.

The lotto enterprenuers revealed that the government’s intent is to collapse private lotto operation business in the country in other to cover up some rots at the National Lottery Authority NLA by the Osei Ameyaw’s administration.

The move by the government to collapse the private lotto operation through the National Lottery Authority, NLA, according to the groups has already deepened the already existing unemployment situation in the country.

Addressing a press conference in Accra, the spokesperson and lawyer for the group Mr. Ato Konduah, remarked that the intended use of the security agents to harass lotto operators was to only give undue advantage to the NLA to rather pave way for the perpetration of the the new Chinese platform rental fee fraud against the state by those at the helm of affairs at the NLA.

Lawyer Konduah threatened the government that the collapse of the lotto businesses ,would result in over two million votes lost from the private lotto fraternity and their families for the NPP.

Mr. Konduah noted that the two electoral defeat of the New Patriotic Party, NPP, in 2008 and 2012 was as a result of its harassment of private lotto operators in the country.

Warned that if the government does not stop the harassment of the private sector operators to prevent fear and panic, their actions would be occasioned before the 2020 general elections.

The Spokes person added that the government must be duly advised on the insecurity, anger, resistance and public refusal to vote NPP in 2020.

He pointed out that in the absence of job creation by government, it should rather encourage private sector participation in lotto for employment generation at the districts to fulfil its long-held mantra of private sector development.

Mr. Konduah also accused the Director General of the NLA, Osei Ameyaw of extorting over one million Ghana Cedis from lotto operators and agents.

Lawyer Konduah threatened to sue Mr. Osei Ameyaw for extorting monies from the private sector operators running into several millions of Ghana Cedis to provide them with the licence to operate banker-to-banker lotto using the NLA draw numbers.

The counsel for the group further accused the NLA of unlawfully confiscating draw machines, equipment and operating systems of private sector lotto operators after deceiving them into demonstrating their self-acquired systems platforms to the NLA.

“TheDirector General of the NLA, Mr. Osei Ameyaw must be interdicted by the Special Prosecutor SP and be made to fully refund the millions of Ghana cedis collected from operators to licence them to operate by drawing on NLA numbers and for getting them to register according to regions for a non-existent lotto operation”, he added.

Lotto operators have taken years to develop their own supply chain and can therefore not pay millions of Cedis in addition to five million Ghana Cedis bank insurance guarantees to retail lotto coupon for NLA.
