NPP Candidate Intensifies Campaign At Lapaz
Nana Ama Dokua, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Okoikoi North has held a rally at Lapaz in Accra to attract traders.
Present at the rally was NPP’s national women’s organizer Madam Kate Gyamfua.
Madam Gyamfua used the opportunity to touch on Ghana’s economic recovery, which has been a major thorn in the flesh of the current government.
According to her, the Free SHS was introduced by the NPP government led by Nana Akufo Addo in 2017 to fulfill his campaign promises.
She explained that former President Agyekum Kufour started the free education at the basic level by introducing a capitation grant, free uniforms, free desk and President Akufo Addo continued the policy by introducing the free SHS in all Senior High Schools across the country.
“As stated in Article 25 1b of the 1992 Constitution, “Secondary education in its different forms including technical and vocational education shall be made generally available and accessible to all by every appropriate means and in particular by the progressive introduction of free education”, she added.
Goal 4 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) states: “By 2030, ensure that all girls and boys complete free, equitable and quality primary and secondary education leading to relevant and effective learning outcomes”.
Gyamfua was speaking at a rally in Lapaz with a section of the polling stations women organisers in the Okoikoi north constituency.
The programme was aimed at equipping polling station women organisers to visit homes and propagate the good news about free SHS to parents.
The national NPP women’s organizer assured the party organisers that with hard work and dedication, the NPP can win the December presidential and parliamentary elections.
“I can assure you that with your dedication and hard work, we can break the 8 in the December parliamentary and presidential elections”, she said.
She called for unity to execute the agenda to win and “it is important to come together as one body and work so that the party can win both presidential and parliamentary elections”.
According to her, the okoikoi North candidate has embarked on so many developmental projects covering health and education in the area.
She therefore urged the people of Okoikoi North to vote for Nana Dokua to enable her continue her good work.
