NDC Zongo Caucus Coordinator Schools Aziz Futa
The Greater Accra Regional Zongo Caucus Coordinator of the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC, Ismaila Ali Horoya has outlined number of policies the NDC led John Mahama administration undertook for the people of Zongos.
According to the regional Zongo Caucus Coordinator, Mr. Aziz Futa as usual of the NPP refused to give credit to the originator of Islamic teaching module under the Youth Employment Agency programme.
He stated that under the NDC administration, Islamic teachers were given opportunities to teach and receive monthly allowances.
Tackling on the training of doctors in Cuba, Ismaila Ali Horoya confirmed the stragetic selection of children from deprived communities and Zongos by the earstwhile NDC administration so as to come back home and serve their people after their training.
Two of the recently graduated doctors namely Mohammed Awal and Rafia Abalo, confirmed to this portal that they were amongst those selected from deprived communities by NDC administration and sent to Cuba to be trained as medical doctors.
They commended the former President Mahama for his bold decision to ensure children from the deprived communities have the opportunity to become doctors.
Ismaila Ali Horoya was speaking to ghanaiandemocrat.com in an interview in Accra.
Sadly, Mr. Aziz Futa could not remember the biggest achievement of the NDC by given Muslim around the country a statory holiday to celebrate their Eid ul fitir and Eid adha.
This was the occasion that brought the infamous walk of the assembly by then opposition led by Nana Akufo Addo, now president of the Republic of Ghana.
The argument of the opposition at that time was that Muslims were not Ghanaians and deserve no holiday, but the majority NDC in Parliament stood firm on their position to ensure Muslims are given equal treatments.
The office of the NPP’s Nasara Coordinator issued a statement discreding the former President John Dramani Mahama for not selecting the children from the deprived communities to Cuba.
The release said “Never in our lives as Zango people had we heard the NDC in government mentioned or outlined a single policy or Programme for us not even a scholarship.
“We the people of Zango are yet to be told what John Mahama as Vice President and President did for the people of Zongo.”
The release added “He should give us a break, this current administration under the leadership of H.E. Nana Addo and H.E. Dr. Bawumia have done tremendously a great service to the Zango Community.
“As the National Nasara Coordinator, serving as the representative of the Zango at the Party level, any time there is a scholarship, an allocation is given to my office which is given to my people.”
But in his rebuttal, NDC’s regional zongo caucus Coordinator reminded Mr. Aziz of nothing beneficial to the people of Zongos since the creation of the Inner City and Zongo Ministry. NDC Zongo Caucus Coordinator.
