The sitting Member of Parliament (MP) for Cape Coast South constituency and a former Deputy Minister for Finance and Economic Planning, Hon. Kweku Ricketts Hagan ,is said to have expressed his intention to avail himself for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Flagbearership race when nominations open.

Our impeccable source close to the Member of the legislature has disclosed to Ghanaiandemocrat.com that all is set for the MP to make his intension public in the next coming days.

According to our source, Hon. Ricketts Hagan has begun consultations from the ranks and file of the party and so far so good with the number of endorsements received.

The Cape Coast born soft-spoken MP is expected to do battle with former President Mahama, immediate past Vice Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies–Accra [UPSA], Prof Joshua Alabi; former Trade and Industry Minister, Dr Spio Gabrah; former CEO of National Health Insurance Authority [NHIA], Sylvester Mensah, and 2nd deputy Speaker of Parliament and MP for Nadowli Kaleo, Alban Kingsford Sumani Bagbin, to clinch the NDC 2020 flag bearer post.

His reason to contest for the top post of the party we have gathered is to deepen the internal democracy of the party and ensures NDC rescue power from the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in 2020.
