NDC Inuagurates Ayawaso Central Women’s Wing

The largest opposition National Democratic Congress NDC has inaugurated its Ayawaso Central Constituency Women’s Wing to kickstart the 2020 rescue mission of the party ahead of this year’s general elections.

Regional and Constituency executives, who took turns to address the gathering, predicted victory for the Party.

Delivering the her speech, the Ayawaso Central Constituency NDC Women Organiser, Madam Nancy Nyantekyi, urged the women to unite in order to attain power in the upcoming general elections.

She noted that women are the dominant population in Ghana and therefore there is the need for the women to support the men in their quest to win power for the people.

Madam Nyantekyi also entreated party faithfuls to rally behind the Parliamentary Candidate to win the seat for the NDC which has eluded the party for 24 years.

On his part, the Ayawaso Central Constituency Chairman of the NDC, Dela Geraldo, noted that the women’s wing must be dedicated and vibrant to enable the NDC win the Parliamentary seat saying; there is nothing you will do without women and they are important in politics.

He also advised the women to team up and campaign vigorously for the party by mobilising all the women in the various wards to go on house to house campaign to bring back the party into power.

The Parliamentary Candidate for the Ayawaso Central Constituency, Abdul Rauf Tabazu, noted that the state of NDC women’s wing in the constituency is in good shape and encouraged them to be active by bringing other women who are not from the NDC to also join the party.

He added that he will be working hand in hand with the constituency and branch executives to get more votes in the area to bring back the party into power and also to capture the seat from the NPP.

Abdul Rauf Tabazu expressed appriciation to the Women’s wing and urged them to support all women and promise to partake in all their meeting for the betterment of the party.

He advised then not to only focus on only the women in party but do well to encourage other women in the constituency who are not NDC members.

The Greater Accra regional Women Organizer of the NDC, Madam Felicia Mekpoi-Bortey, who inaugurated the committee charged the women to give out their best and expect nothing but victory for the party in 2020.

She however called for close collaboration among members of the committee and the branches as well as the constituency executives to win the 2020 elections.

She was hopeful that unity, hard work and determination will capture the seat and maximise the Presidential votes to bring back NDC to power.

Madam Mekpoi-Bortey admonished the women to put up good behaviour towards others in order to make the party appealing to others.

Beside the Women’s wing inauguration, other committees were inaugurated including; Disciplinary Committee, Finance Committee, Welfare Committee, Communication Committee, Prayer Committee and Visitation Committee.
