NDC Appoints New Directors
The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has made some new appointments to head its new party directorates and departments.
The Directors of these departments are expected to discharge their (its) duties as stipulated in their appointment letters.
Some of the things the new appointees would be doing in addition are to cooperate with the elected national executives in discharging their duties.
At the short inaugural ceremony held on Wednesday in Accra, the General Secretary of the party Johnson Asiedu Nketia charged the new party appointees to discharge their duties without fear or favour.
He remarked that some of the appointees have been working in such areas over the last four year and the party was very satisfied with their work hence their retention.
He said the appointment of the department has become necessary in the preparations of the crucial general elections in 2020.
On his part, the national chairman, Mr. Ofosu Ampofo commended the appointees on the previous work and dedication to the party.
He encouraged the directors to ensure that all hands are desk in helping the party to rescue power from the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in 2020.
The party chairman charged the disciplinary committee to instill discipline in the party by cracking the whip in order to instill discipline in the party. He added that should spare anybody who would fall with the party’s constitution.
“NDC is governed by the constitution and I want to charge the disciplinary committee to take it very serious in instilling discipline in the party with fear or favour”, he stated.
The following are the newly appointed directors their offices; National Vice Chairman, Hon. Kofi Attor- National Vice Chairman, Hon. Salas Mensah – Treasurer, Hon. Alex Segbefia – Director International Relations, Director of IT – Mr. Osei Kwame Griffiths.
Others include Director of Communiction – Mr. Kakra Essamuah, Director of Elections – Hon. Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, Director of Research – Alhaji Haruna Rasheed, Director of Legal Affairs – Mr. Abraham Amaliba, Rector GISD – Dr. Williams Ahadzie, Director of Administration – Hon. Emmanuel Zumakpeh and Mr. Bede Ziedeng as Director of Special Duties.
The rest of the co-opted members are Mrs. Satty Ocran, Hon. Betty Mould Iddrissu and Hon. Paul Evans Aidoo, whiles the the disciplinary committee is made of Hon. Steve Obimpe as the chairman of the committee, Nava Capt. Assasi Gyimah – Member and Rt. Hon. Kenneth Dzirasah – Member.
