Information coming in from the Adentan Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Greater Accra Region indicates that the former Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection Hon. Nana Oye Lithur is lacing her boot to contest for the NDC parliamentary primaries.

Our source says the former Minister has done with all the consultations within the ranks and files of the party and has been given the green light to meet members of the constituency to officially make her intentions known.

Ghanaiandemocrat.com has gathered that Hon. Nana Oye Lithur has already started meeting with some branch members to make her intentions known to them.

This portal can report on authority that her meeting on Thursday with Miracle branch where she is a member, has gone well with members throwing massive support for her bid.

Some of the constituency executives who spoke with this portal on condition of anonymity said the decision of the former Gender Minister to contest in the up-coming primaries of the party was a welcoming one adding that “Knowing that women with her track record can help recapture the seat from the NPP”.

For him, she the best candidate so far who can stand the trenches with the NPP candidate, believed that she is very strong woman when it comes to debating on issues of national development.

The source revealed that since the news broke out that the human right lawyer was coming to contest the Adentan NDC primaries, some members of the ruling NPP have already joined the train promising to give her the necessary support to win the primaries.

Nana Oye Lithur is a Ghanaian barrister and politician. She was the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection in Ghana. She was appointed in 2013 by President John Mahama after the Ghanaian general election. She is a member of the National Democratic Congress.
