NADMO Directorate Calls For Public Cooperation To Demolished Illegal Structures

Part of 9 bedroom compound house collapsed at Twimia-Nkwanta in the Techiman Municipality of Bono East region resulted to the death of one and another seriously injured.

Father of the victims, Badu Thomas in an interview with the media recounted the sad incident that occurred at about 4am on Sunday while they were asleep.

The deceased, 11, was identified as Cindy Boakye whose body was later deposited at the Holy Family Hospital morgue while her 23 year old sister Salomey Nyamekye received treatment at the Valley View Adventist Hospital.

In view of this, the Techiman Municipal NADMO Directorate on Friday 6th December, 2019 took steps to demolished some weak buildings to prevent any future occurrences.

Mr. Eric Asiedu Techiman Municipal NADMO Director led his team to undertake this exercise.

Speaking in an interview with our reporter Kwadwo Ofosu Baffoe after the Demolition exercise reiterated NADMO’s commitment to pull down all weak buildings in the Municipality that poses threat to human lives.

He indicated that, NADMO’s core mandate is to put up measures and ensure that disaster and other accidents do not occurred.

He strongly asserted that, NADMO would not relent on its mandates and duties but would work tirelessly to prevent disasters.

Mr. Eric Asiedu also advised the public to be extra careful on both bush fires and domestic fires as the country is entering into harmattan season.

Nadmo boss therefore calls for public cooperation to help prevent disasters in the country.

Meanwhile, Nana Agyei Frimpong popularly Known as Yaaro who is an opinion leader at Twimia praised Techiman Municipal NADMO Directorate led by Mr. Eric Asiedu on steps they took to demolished the weak buildings in the Municipality.

He also declared the Traditional Authorities support for NADMO to demolished all illegal structures in the community.
