The man, according to sources accused his wife of infidelity.
Emmanuel Awudi who suspected his wife, Abena Kakra of sexual misconduct for six months, was heartbroken, hence decided to kill his wife and commit suicide.
The assembly member of Awudikrom, Kwaakye Marfo told www.ghanaweb.com the late Awudu became suspicious after his wife denied him sex on several occasions, a situation he bitterly complained about.
Mr. Awudi was said to have had misunderstanding with the wife on the evening of Sunday April 23, 2018 and elders in the community were called in to settle the dispute.
Awudi’s wife was subsequently offered a room to spend the night while the issue was carefully investigated.
However, upon returning home the next morning, a fight broke out between the two again where the husband allegedly butchered her with a machete.
All attempts by 12-year-old son of the deceased, Prince Awudi, to get residents to the rescue of his late mother yielded no positive results.
Mr Awudi later committed suicide in a nearby forest after realising he has killed his wife.
Residents in the area are still in shock following the incident.
