La Traders, Residents Shower Praises on NDC For New Market Stalls

One of the major projects embarked on by the John Mahama led National Democrat Congress (NDC) was the putting up an ultra modern market for the people of La Dadekotopon Municipality in the Greater Accra Region.

The market which was started by the previous administration is currently about 85% complete and touted as one of the major economic boost for the locals when the project is completed.

Speaking exclusively with the Ghanaiandemocrat.com, the former Municipal Chief Executive Officer of the area,Madam Rita Odoley Sowah explained that the Ghs 5.4 million project formed par tof the government plans to ensure trader can trade under conducive environment that would lead to the economic transformation of market women in the municipality.

She reveals that the market has been one of her babies that was so dear to her heart and made sure that the project would see light of day.

According to her, the Assembly during her tenure has put in more efforts in generating revenue that has resulted in the massive infrastructure development within the municipality.

For this, she indicated that the market project is long overdue since funds have been set aside for the completion of the project before she exited office.

She called on the current administration to speed up the project and ensure its completion for the market women to have a better place to do their businesses.

She accused the present administration of stalling all roads projects started by the previous administration adding that “we are very disappointed in the government for abandoning project we started, we are confidence that come 2020 we will win the elections and comeback to office and finish all the projects within the Municipality “.

Meanwhile, some residents who spoke with this portal have to shower praises on the previous NDC government for initiating numerous infrastructural development in the Municipality.
