Jean Mensa Transfers All ECs IT Staff To The Regions
…and brings in National Security operatives to manage the data base
The Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Mensa, is determined to declare the ruling NPP winners of the general election this December come what may.
As a result, she is leaving no stone unturned to ensure an uneven playing field in favour of the ruling party.
Last Friday, July 10, 2020, in what is undoubtedly part of the plot to make sure the scale tilts in favour of the NPP, she suddenly transferred all IT staff at the headquarters of the EC in Accra to the regions and brought in new IT personnel to manage the commission’s Database. Intel picked up by this paper indicates these new IT persons are from National Security, the state security apparatus the Akufo-Addo government has stripped off its professionalism and turned into a safe haven for its thugs.
A staffer of the EC who spoke to this paper on condition of anonymity said in light of the suspicious transfer of the IT staff from the headquarters to the regions last Friday, the NDC needs to aggregate its statistic on the number of registered voters very well
“They (the NDC) must compare it to what EC will declare officially to ascertain the correctness because Jean Mensa is determined to manipulate the figures to the advantage of the NPP. If she succeeds, the NDC might as well forget about victory in December”, the source told this paper.
The suspicious transfer of the IT staff in the midst of the ongoing voter registration exercise will not come as a surprise to many Ghanaians who have been left in no doubt since she took over as Chairperson of the EC that Jean Mensa’s only mission is to ensure the NPP wins the general election in December at any cost.
The Akufo-Addo led NPPP government has lost all the goodwill it had due to massive corruption, nepotism, arrogance, failed promises and the poor handling of the coronavirus pandemic.
The arresting and jailing of galamseyers and handing over their seized excavators to NPP activists to do galamsey, the refusal of the government to pay to customers of menzgold and several Savings and Loans Companies their monies locked up in these companies after the government closed them down, the frequent increases in the cost of fuel , the high cost of clearing goods at the port, the inability of the government to point to any major infrastructure in spite of being the administrations that has borrowed most since independence, the haphazard manner they have implemented the Free SHS programme and many other failures has resulted in a situation where many Ghanaians are in a hurry to kick the NPP out of power. Aware of this, the Akufo-Addo-led government has decided to manipulate every step of the process that will finally lead to the polls in December.
This it started by first sacking the then EC boss, Mrs. Charlotte Osei and replacing her with Jean Mensa, an in-law of Akufo-Addo.
Since then, the EC has been working tirelessly towards declaring Akufo-Addo winner in December inspite of his unpopularity.
