James Gyakye Quayson Expresses Gratitude After Successful Vetting as Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister-Designate

Deputy Minister-designate for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, James Gyakye Quayson, has expressed deep appreciation to all who supported him before and during his successful parliamentary vetting held on Friday, July 25, 2025.
In a heartfelt message of thanks, the Assin North MP said he was “profoundly grateful” to President John Dramani Mahama for the trust and honour bestowed upon him to serve in the next NDC government.
“I accept this call to serve with humility, duty and unwavering dedication to the national interest,” Quayson stated.
He extended special thanks to the traditional authorities in his constituency, including Chiefs and Queen Mothers, party executives, fellow Members of Parliament and the “dependable family and the supportive good people of Assin North” who travelled to Accra to show him unwavering solidarity. He also acknowledged the massive encouragement from Ghanaians in the diaspora who rallied behind him across the globe.
Quayson reserved a special mention for the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, for his exceptional support and mentorship. “I extend my heartfelt appreciation for the exceptional support and strategic briefings I received from him and all the Directors of the Ministry’s key bureaus. The Minister’s guidance has prepared me to hit the ground running,” he said.
Looking ahead, the deputy minister-designate reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening Ghana’s engagement with its diaspora, forging strategic international partnerships and championing national development through inclusive diplomacy.
