House of Chiefs President Fueling Teshie Chieftaincy Dispute
The chieftaincy dispute that has denied Teshie, a community within the Greater Accra Region, a paramount chief has taken a new dimension.
The Teshie Tradional Council has asked the State Authority to call the President of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs, who doubles as Osu Mantse, Nii Nortey Okwei Kinkan Dowuona VI to order.
According the Kingmakers of Teshie, the Presindent of the regional House of Chiefs has been behind the fueling of tensions in the Ledzokuku Municipa,lity and needs to be called to order.
At a press conference held in Accra on Tuesday, the spokesperson Nii Nortey Tuaka II explained that a consensus was agreed and voted for the recommended individuals to be installed as chief and elders of Teshie since 2018.
The President of the Regional House of Chief according to them, immidiately after the recommendations by the chief, went behind and issued another letter withdrawing the recommended individuals for the decision best known to him.
They have accused Nii Nortey Owei Kinkan Dowuona VI of keeping the report that was supposed to be released since 2016 when the then Minister for Chientaincy ,Dr. Seidu Danaa wanted to investigate and find a lasting solution to the Teshie Chieftaincy issue.
A letter sighted by this portal immanating from the Regional House of Chiefs and dated 28th March, 2017 ,directing the fact finding committee on the Teshie chiefataincy affair, to withdraw the report from the Ministry on the reason that the committee has received numerous petitions from Krobo Quarters which involves the Manklalo stool only.
And secondly, these petitions needs to be addressed so that there would be lasting peace at Teshie when the report is released finally.
