Hanna Bisiw Imposing Candidate On Delegates in Okaikoi South Constituency Women’s Wing
The National Women’s Organizer of the National Democratic Congress, NDC, Dr. Hanna Bisiw has set a stage for disarray in the upcoming constituency elections in the Okaikoi South constituency in the Greater Accra Region.
The NDC’s Women’s Organizer stormed the constituency on Friday 14th October, 2022, with the singular aim of declaring one candidate against the other contestants.
During her visit, Hanna Bisiw organized all women organizers at a particular place to inform them of her choice of a candidate in the upcoming constituency elections.
The vociferous NDC women’s organizer openly declared the incumbent constituency women’s organizer, Helena Yaa Nkrumah, the incumbent as her preferred candidate.
She went ahead to charge all women organizers to vote for the incumbent to retain her position, since she is the only person she can work with.
This authoritarian attitude did not go down well with some of the women organizers at the meeting. They described her attitude as “disrespectful” and called on the National executive committee to look into the matter urgently, and apply appropriate sanctions.
According to them, Dr. Hanna Bisiw has gone contrary to the party’s constitution that bars national executive members from imposing candidates on constituency for any position.
Candidates contesting for the position of women’s organizer at the Okaikoi South include Fosua Akua Quaye, Comfort Klomegah, Aretha Adjo Ametoroyona and Helena Yaa Nkrumah.
