Hajia Fati has an office at NPP headquarters – Freddie Blay
Acting chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Freddie Blay, has indicated that Hajia Fati is a “loyal party member” of the NPP and the party has provided an office for her at the party headquarters.
“Hajia was occupying an office even in the main block some time ago and then we needed it …we said we will look for another place for her because she and other people have meetings so that they don’t hang around so we gave that office” to her.
He further explained that there are “a number of people who have offices there to serve the party in various ways. There are people who visit the party. People from various constituencies from various regions, they need to be assisted with few other things to be done for them and so forth. Those we find useful, those we know over time, the party people know and have confidence in, we give them offices. Some even sell paraphernalia and so forth, we give them an office to keep their paraphernalia and they use that one as an office, there is nothing wrong with that”.
Mr Blay who was a guest on Asempa FM’s Ekosiisen programme on Thursday 11 May 2018 said Hajia Fati is useful to the party even though she has come under criticism for slapping a journalist at the party headquarters recently.
Mr Blay condemned the assault perpetrated by Hajia and said they will deal with the matter internally and further rendered an apology to the victim, Sakyiwaa Ahwenepa, a reporter with Accra-based Adom FM.
Mr Blay also used the opportunity to apologise to all journalists and the Mutlimedia Group Limited for the unfortunate action of Hajia Fati against their employee.
