Hajia Alijata Gets Massive Endorsement from Delegates
NDC deputy national women’s hopeful, Hajia Alijata Sulemana-Gbentie has outlined her vision to the delegates ahead of the party’s national delegates conference slated later this month.
Hajia Alijata said her engagement and deliberations with foot soldiers, branch and constituency executives during her tenure as District Chief Executive and later Member of the Parliament for Sisala East Constituency of the Upper East Region has equipped her with the skills on how to execute and handle the grassroots of the party.
Speaking in a telephone interview with GD , Hajia Alijata revealed how she would liaise with her boss to build the capacity of women organizers of the party to be centered on job creation and poverty reduction across the country.
She was very succinct and emphatic on her commitment to establish Women Empowerment Schemes at the various levels to reduce poverty and vulnerability among the women.
Alijata emphasized on the urgent need for the women organizers from branch level to be giving the necessary training and skills as well as resources to discharge their duties well.
“For the NDC to be vibrant, women organizers need to be given logistic and support right from branch to national levels to discharge their duties very well, strong women’s wing will ensure victory for the party come 2020 general elections “, she asserted.
She added that “the time has come for the party to institute schemes and massive revitalization of welfare for the aged and the deprived that will ensure their sustainability.
