Government won’t fund supporters for Commonwealth games – Deputy Sports Minister
The Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Pius Enam Hadzide has disclosed that the government will not fund supporters traveling to Gold Coast, Australia ahead of the 2018 commonwealth games.
According to Pius, the government will aid and facilitate the traveling documents of supporters who would like to travel to rally behind Team Ghana at the games.
He further explained that the government would have wished to fund but does not have the financial strength to sponsor supporters at this time.
He expressed that, the government will only assist supporters who would like to travel to Australia, even for the National Supporters Union (NSU) but not financially.
Team Ghana will take part in the 2018 commonwealth games slated for April in Gold Coast, Australia.
