Gold Board Rebuts GHC3bn Loss Report, Demands Immediate Retraction

The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has strongly dismissed reports suggesting that the institution has recorded losses exceeding GHC3 billion in its first year of operation, describing the claims as “entirely false and deliberately contrived.”
In a press statement issued on November 17, 2025, GoldBod said a publication by Asaase Radio alleging huge financial losses was a fabrication aimed at undermining the progress and contributions the Board has made toward stabilising and revitalising Ghana’s economy.
According to the statutory body, its financial performance has been positive since its establishment. It revealed that quarterly financial statements – soon to be published on its official website – will confirm that the institution has consistently made surpluses, contrary to the claims circulating in the media.
GoldBod urged the public to disregard the report, calling it “misleading and unethical,” and demanded that Asaase Radio retracts the publication and issue an unqualified apology to Ghanaians.
