Ghana Police Anti Landguad Unit in Shambles, Chief Calls for immediate intervention
The Ghana Police Property Department also known as the anti-land guard unit is in distress need of immediate attention from the state and other bodies.
The unit, which is one of the vibrant departments of the service has been in shambles, lacking logistics and human force to discharge its mandate effectively.
The chief of Oblieman who doubles as CivTec International Advisor for Ghana and Africa, Nii Ayitey Anumle Oyanka has joined the campaign to resource the anti-land guard unit.
The CivTec international advisor spoke to Ghanaiandemocrat.com in an interview observed that despite numerous challenges including one pickup vehicle been used by the entire unit, it has been able to deliver on its mandate.
He described the unit’s situation as pathetic as officers carry out their mandate with inadequate resources against well-resourced and armed land guards.
He added that “I felt sorry and feel pity for this officers who have to go out there to keep safe people’s properties are themselves not even well equipped”.
Nii Ayitey Anumle Oyanka was worried about the level of cases these officers attend to and to some extent visit sites that leads to battle with those land guards.
He commended the police force unit for bringing normalcy in the disturbing cases of land guards in the Ga West Municipality of the Greater Accra and the entire region.
