Ghana Navy Chief Urges Unity and Professionalism at WASSA Celebrations

Vice Admiral Isaah Adam Yakubu, the Chief of Naval Staff, emphasized the importance of loyalty, professionalism, and dedication among personnel during the West African Soldiers Social Activities (WASSA) celebrations held on January 31, 2025, at Burma Camp. He highlighted that the strength of the Ghana Navy lies in their unity and shared purpose.
In alignment with the Ghana Navy’s 2024 agenda, Vice Admiral Yakubu announced several initiatives, including accommodations, infrastructural projects, and ship acquisitions aimed at enhancing the welfare, training, and working conditions of personnel. Notable projects include the construction of the Senior Rates Mess, the Yakubu Villas, and the commissioning of the Ship-in-a-Box project, MV KETA LAGOON, alongside maintenance facilities and two Defender boats donated by the U.S. government.
During the celebrations, various units showcased their culinary skills, treating attendees to a variety of dishes, complemented by performances from the Navy Band. The guest of honor, retired Rear Admiral Peter Kofi Faidoo, urged officers to refrain from unwarranted attacks on civilians and to maintain professionalism at all times.
