Ghana Hosts 2025 Africa Prosperity Dialogue to Foster Economic Integration

Ghana is set to host the 2025 Africa Prosperity Dialogue, emphasizing the need for African nations to unite in trade to secure the continent’s economic future. This three-day event serves as a critical platform for leaders, policymakers, and experts to address Africa’s pressing economic challenges amid global uncertainties.
Organized by the Africa Prosperity Network (APN) in collaboration with the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat, the dialogue is themed “Delivering Africa’s Single Market Through Infrastructure: Invest, Connect, Integrate.”
Vice-President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang highlighted the significance of entrepreneurship, international trade, and natural resource management in building resilience against external shocks.
“We have the tools to create change, but tools alone are not enough,” she stated. She called for practical, evidence-based solutions to transform economies, diversify growth, and strengthen resilience to future crises, emphasizing the importance of political commitment and policy coherence.
Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, Chairperson of the APN Advisory Council, echoed the need for collective effort and inward-focused solutions. She praised the AfCFTA as a transformative opportunity for enhancing regional trade and economic integration.
“Africa is not asking for handouts,” Zuma asserted. “Every challenge brings with it an opportunity, and amidst global fragmentation, Africa can carve out new niches and seize emerging opportunities.”
The conference is expected to attract over 3,000 participants, including government officials, policymakers, academics, development experts, business leaders, and representatives from civil society and international organizations. By gathering the continent’s brightest minds and most influential leaders, the African Economic Conference aims to provide actionable solutions for a prosperous, sustainable, and inclusive future for all Africans.
