Ghana Holds 2024 Local Content Conference / Exhibition
As part of efforts to woo oil companies to invest in Ghanas’s oil sector, the minister of state at the ministry of energy, Helbert Krapa, stated that Ghana has learnt from its mistake on its 15 years of oil exploration.
The Special Adviser to the President on Energy, Hebert Krappa, disclosed this during an inaugural 2024 local content conference and exhibition Strategic Energy Dialogue at the western serene atlantic hotel in Takoradi.
Speaking at a opening ceremony organised as part of the inaugural 2024 local content conference to obtain a Strategic Energy Dialogue,
Mr. Krappa said the upstream oil and gas project would deliver millions standard cubic feet of gas per day when operational.
Krappa added that major energy reforms introduced by the current NPP government since its took over power in 2017 focused on improving energy security, attracting investments, and deepening collaboration with key partners including oil companies operation in the country.
He said the key reforms had improved the viability of the oil and gas-to-power value chain and more need to be done to bring employment to the good people of Ghana.

The reforms, according to him included initiatives to improve cash flows in electricity distribution through smart metering and the payment of outstanding debts owed investors and to reduce carbon emissions from gas production.
He added that the President of Ghana orders to support the reform efforts, aimed at providing fiscal incentives for investment and reducing the cost and time of finalising and implementing contracts to develop and expand oil and gas infrastructure.
The presidential aide said the directives aimed at immediately unlock up to several billion in new oil and gas investments in the country.
