Attempts by the Ghanaian Embassy in the United States to deny sending in alleged security agents to mount surveillance on the home of Kevin Ekow Taylor has backfired.

Earlier this week, Kevin Taylor, the controversial host of online news portal, “With All Due Respect” who has been on the trail of individuals in government for their alleged involvement in the infamous Menzgold saga, raise an alarm that a black SUV with registration number CTV 0200 was prowling around his home.

He was convinced that the vehicle belonged to the Ghana Embassy in the US and is said to have reported the case to US law enforcement agencies.

However Kofi Tonto, the Head of Information at the Ghana embassy was quick rebuttal to dismiss the allegation, even though he admitted that Mr. Taylor had called him to inform him about the illegal surveillance.

Mr. Tonto went ahead to rubbish the registration number on the said vehicle as belonging to the Ghana Embassy.

“I’d like to state for the avoidance of any doubt in my capacity as the Head of Information of the Ghana Embassy in Washington DC that the Embassy does not have any car with that registration number,” Tonto challenged.

However, Whatsup News has done a search of registration numbers on diplomatic vehicle registration numbers in the US and it turns out that the “CTV” code prefixing the registration number is officially reserved for Ghana. This is confirmed by a number of diplomatic registration number decoders online, including www.qz.com and www.pl8s.com

Much to the contradiction of the denial by the Embassy’s Head of Information, a further search of the vehicle number CTV 0200 revealed that the number is reserved for only Ghanaian Diplomatic vehicles. The “C” in the registration means the vehicle is from the Consular section while TV is the unique code for Ghana’s diplomatic vehicles in the US.
