Ghana Army Reaffirms Commitment to Scientific Research
The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has reaffirmed its commitment to investing in scientific research and development as part of its efforts to achieve industrial and technological advancement.
The Chief of the Defense Staff (Ghana) Major General Thomas Oppong -Peprah, stated this while declaring open GAFMS Scientific conference on Wednesday 23 octomber, 2024 held at 37 military hospital Officers Mess in Accra.
This maiden GAFMS SCIENTIFIC conference will provide a vital platform for health professionals, policymakers, industry leaders and people in academia to exchange information, share experiences and discuss research findings.
This will help improve healthcare delivery and enhance the well-being of both military personnel and the general public.
The theme of this scientific conference, “Breaking Boundaries: Interdisciplinary Approaches to Health Research” marks the beginning of annual conferences aimed at promoting multidisciplinary collaboration and expanding the knowledge of healthcare professionals.
The goal is to overcome barriers to collaborative research and stimulate public discussion on the challenges and opportunities in health research in Ghana.
Represented by the Chief of Staff, Ghanaian Army, Major General Prince Osei Owusu emphasized that Ghana is endowed with both material and intellectual resources. He added that the task at hand is to harness and galvanize these resources to achieve the country’s developmental goals.
Major General Owusu noted that research and development are the bedrock of industrialization in many countries globally, and the Ghana Army is determined not to be left behind.
The conference was marked with various exhibitors who displayed and distributed health care products free of charge to participants.
